マツクスーエリカン–Why I chose to study Japanese?
Ever since a young age, I have been fascinated by Japan, its culture, and its history. I've always been very intrigued by the characters and the language, but did not understand it. I thought it would barricade me from learning more about the culture, history, and literature of Japan. As a result, I thought college would be the perfect time to start studying the language that has always fascinated me.
When starting, I found the syntax and grammar to be very confusing, but with repeated practice I have been becoming more at ease with it. I'm very excited to learn kanji, although I know it will certainly be a challenge.

You're doing great Max! You never shy away from speaking up in class and I admire that. It's the way to go when learning a new language and I definitely need to do the same :)
